Dexter will return to the American cable network Showtime with a 10-episode cover.
Michael C Hall will once again play the role of the blood spatter forensic analyst who divides his time between working with the police and being a vigilante killer.
Gary Levine, president of entertainment at Showtime, said in a statement, “We would only come back to this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant original series.
“Well, I’m happy to report that (executive producer) Clyde Phillips and Michael C Hall have found it. “.
Dexter finished in 2013 after eight seasons and a number of accolades.
In the series finale, Dexter disabled his sister’s life support system, threw her body into the sea, and sailed through a hurricane.
But by the end of the episode, Dexter was working as a lumberjack.
The new plot has not been revealed and it is not known if the other main characters in the series will be part of it.
Production begins later this year and airing is likely in the fall of 2021 in the United States.
