NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Mayor Bill de Blasio released details on Wednesday about the city’s plans to distribute a coronavirus vaccine once approved.The mayor says he will be available regardless of a person’s ability to pay for it.

First responders and essential frontline agents will be in the first phase of distribution, as will New Yorkers vulnerable to the coronavirus.

Vaccination of the general public will be in the second phase.

“Our hospitals, our clinics, both health and the Department of Health hospitals and clinics. We will use community centers, schools, etc. And we are going to involve everyone in the health care world, public and private, including private doctors, pharmacies, emergency care centers, community vaccination efforts, ”said de Blasio.

The mayor said information about the vaccine will be provided in many languages ​​and through trusted community leaders.
