Daesh / Daesh terrorist wanted by France arrested in Turkey

ADANA from Turkey Soumaya Raissi, a Daesh / ISIS terrorist wanted by France with a red notice, was arrested in southern Turkey, security sources said on Friday.

Police caught the terrorist in Adana province.

The 30-year-old Tunisian national, Raissi, was wanted by French authorities and identified as “dangerous” and “activist,” the sources said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on communication with the media.

Sources also said the Daesh terrorist was in possession of a fake Syrian identity card.

Turkey was one of the first countries to declare Daesh / ISIS as a terrorist group in 2013.

The country has since been repeatedly attacked by Daesh / Daesh terrorists. The terrorist group carried out at least 10 suicide bombings, seven bombings and four armed attacks, killing 315 people and injuring hundreds more.

In response, Turkey launched counterterrorism operations at home and abroad to prevent further attacks.
