On October 10, 2020, Waterloo Regional Police responded to the Weimar Line in the Township of Wellesley after receiving calls from citizens of the Township of Wellesley reporting unsafe practices by hunters in the area.Conservation officers from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry have visited the area to investigate a cyclist struck by stray shotgun bullets.

The joint investigation between the two agencies resulted in a 27-year-old Guelph resident facing two charges under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act.

Police ask hunters to be diligent in their safety measures when dealing with firearms.
