Health Minister John Haggie and Acting Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr Rosann Seviour will host a press conference today to discuss COVID-19.
An essential healthcare worker, cleared to travel from Saskatchewan to Happy Valley-Goose Bay via Deer Lake, has tested positive.
It appears that she did not isolate herself after arriving, which led to a series of notices regarding a number of businesses in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and the Holiday Inn Express in Deer Lake.
Finance Minister Siobhan Coady is self-monitoring and is expected to undergo a COVID test after spending time in the same hotel at the same time.
The press conference will take place at 12:45 p.m., VOCM News will broadcast it live.
