McDonald’s has issued a COVID-19 exposure notification for one of its Abbotsford restaurants.

The restaurant chain has temporarily closed its location at 1858 McCallum Road after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

All staff who may have been in close contact with the infected employee, whose last shift was on the evening of October 5, have been asked to self-quarantine until more information is available.

McDonald’s says an outside company has been hired to clean up and sanitize the location.

“We are working to make sure it is safe to reopen because we know our customers depend on their local McDonald’s and we are committed to doing our part to help our communities,” the company said in a statement.

Anyone who visited the Abbotsford restaurant on October 5 is urged to monitor themselves for symptoms and follow instructions from the BC Center for Disease Control.
