Covid-19 cases in France exceed one million


PARIS: The number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 in France has exceeded one million, according to Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
According to the university, the exact number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in France stands at 1,000,369 at 02:00 GMT.
The death toll from Covid-19 in France stands at 34,075 people, adds the university.
France has thus become the second country in the EU with more than a million cases of coronavirus after Spain.
The World Health Organization declared the Covid-19 epidemic a pandemic on March 11. To date, more than 41.1 million people have been infected with the coronavirus worldwide, with more than 1.12 million dead, according to JHU.
