Cover versions will bring Jared Leto’s Joker to Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’


We thought we had seen the last of Jared LetoThe Joker’s point of view, but THR is reporting today that Leto will resume his Suicide Squad role for Zack Snyderof Justice League.Announced earlier this year, Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. are currently working hard on the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League, with tens of millions of dollars spent allowing Snyder to rebuild the 2017 film into its original vision. The “Snyder Cut” is said to be quite different and a lot darker, with Darkseid notably featured in the movie.

Leto’s Joker does not appear in any capacity in the version of Justice League which hit theaters in 2017, and it will be introduced in the film via covers of “Snyder Cut”.

Publish-Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn emancipated herself from Leto’s Joker for Cathy Yan’s Birds of prey, and of course we saw Joaquin Phoenix memorably bring his own take on the iconic villain to the screen in Oscar winner Todd Phillips. Joker. How Exactly Joker Will Fit Into Snyder’s All-New Cut Justice League that remains to be seen.

The “Snyder Cut” arrives on HBO Max in 2021.
