Coronation StreetBen Price admitted that the cast had a really tough time filming Oliver Battersby’s emotional storyline.
Viewers keeping up with the ITV soap opera will know how young Oliver lives with a rare form of mitochondrial disease, and Ben, who plays Nick Tilsley on the soap opera, recently congratulated his co-star Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby) especially for going through the stages with him.
“Jane has been fantastic, she’s super strong, we support each other really well but when you’re there, you’re there,” he said.

He explained, “We’re both old enough to know what comes with these types of great stories, but we also have the chance to go back to our own families where that’s not our life and that’s important.
“When we are at work we give it 100%, but when we go out you have to try not to bring it home. There are days we cried a lot and you can’t stop crying but that’s what we get paid to do and Jane did an amazing job. ”
Ben went on to reveal that COVID-19 restrictions on set meant emotionally charged scenes were routinely filmed back to back.

“It’s important to do this story well,” he said, adding that the actors are aware of the responsibility they have to those who experience similar situations in real life.
“Jane and I know this is someone’s story, it’s someone’s life and that’s why we give them all we can. No one takes it lightly, you have to find the balance to keep this in the back of your head, but also know that you are playing it and not letting all the weight fall on you.
“This will continue to play out for quite a while, especially for Leanne. “
