The cause of death of the DJ, real name Tony Cook, remains to be confirmed.
Circus Records tweeted, “Our beloved Tony Cook (aka Cookie Monsta) has passed away.
“We are devastated, no words can contain our feelings on such a day.
“All our thoughts are with Tony’s family, friends and our hearts are especially with Tony’s son, Olly, the Mini Monsta.
“You’ll miss the world Cookie, we’ll miss you my brother.” ”
The message ended with the words, “Out of respect for Tony’s family, we will withhold comments until deemed appropriate.” ”
Cookie Monsta was known for his songs Ruff and Blurgh.
Last year he canceled his tour after revealing that he “had mental health issues”.
He wrote on Facebook at the time: “I haven’t been online recently because I tried to solve my problems away from the glare of social media.
“Unfortunately, I didn’t make as much progress as I had hoped, so I decided I had to take a longer break from performing. “
In August 2019, he said he was “in a better place” and was returning to music “with more confidence and passion than ever”.
His fellow DJs and musicians paid tribute to him on Twitter.
KOVEN tweeted, “We’re honestly beyond the news Circus Records just shared of the passing of Tony, Cookie Monsta.
“It was always so much fun to be around, he had a wonderful, caring soul.
“We are so sad at this loss for everyone who knew him. Rest in peace. ”
MURT DONKEY posted: “Damn… RIP to the absolute legend Cookie Monsta. Another reminder on the fragility of life. “
