The Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers meet Monday in Week 4 of NFL action from Lambeau Field I’m a game where kick-off time has been pushed back to 9:20 p.m. Est.
Coming into this Monday Night Football game, the Falcons are winless at 0-3. Atlanta has dropped games to the Seahawks, Cowboys and Bears so far. As for the Packers, they ride high with 3-0 in the young 2020 season. Green Bay recorded wins over the Vikings, Lions and Saints in their first line of games. In the Bears game, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan had 238 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Todd Gurley had 14 carries for 80 yards and a touchdown, and Calvin Ridley led the receivers with 110 yards on five catches.
On the Packers’ side, there isn’t much to complain about so far. Green Bay had a tense 43-34 shootout against the Vikings to open the season, then didn’t have much of a problem in Game 2 with the Lions 42-21. The Packers posted another fine NFC victory over the Saints last weekend 37-30 to go undefeated.
In the win over New Orleans, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers racked up 283 yards and three touchdowns, with Allen Lazard catching six passes for 146 yards and one score. Aaron Jones set the tone on the field for the Packers with 16 carries for 69 yards and a TD.
The Falcons are 4-0 CEP in their last four turf games and 5-0 CEP in their last five road games. Atlanta is 5-2 ATS versus a team with a win and 5-2 ATS in Monday’s last seven games.
Meanwhile, the Packers are 5-1 CEP in their last six games as home favorites and 4-1 CEP in the last five games total. Green Bay is 4-1 ATS in its last five games in October and 4-1 ATS in the last five against the NFC.
To choose: I’m leaning towards Atlanta here, but there are a few stipulations. The line on this game opened at five relatively thin points, and it has grown rapidly since. A vast majority of people immediately jumped on the Packers, and the numbers here will likely grow even more as the week goes on. I think it’s a good game to wait and get the Falcons to the best number possible. Atlanta has a pretty decent offense and can probably hang around the neighborhood, especially if you can find a line in the double digits or so. It’s a nice underdog game to watch during NFL Week 4.
