From the three-minute trailer, Chhalaang appears to be a straightforward story with elements of romance, drama, and comedy that add flavor to it. Montu, played by Rao, is a PT teacher at a school. His professional choice is not due to his passion for teaching or sport. It’s just an easy choice that doesn’t require her to do much to make money. But her life changes with Neelu (Bharuccha) entering school as a computer teacher. He begins to love her and tries to woo her in any way he can.

But what a Bollywood love story has never been complete without a third angle. Here enters Ayyub’s character, Singh, who has been named the elder of Montu. Now, the way Montu faces competition from Singh on a personal and professional level makes the story of the film.

Ila Arun as the principal of the school is quite impressive. Saurabh Shukla and Satish Kaushik also make promising appearances in the trailer. At first glance, Chhalaang seems like a movie filled with stellar performances.

Chhalaang marks the fifth collaboration between director Hansal Mehta and actor Rajkummar Rao after critically acclaimed films such as Shahid, Citylights, Aligarh and Omerta. The film is produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.

Speaking about Chhalaang, Mehta shared, “We made this film with the hope of delivering a beautiful message through light comedy. As well as being extremely relevant to the lives of students and teachers, Chhalaang is a complete set filled with the emotions of love, comedy, friendship, rivalry and emotional drama, which makes him an artist of the family. Perfect Diwali.

Rao called Chhalaang a family artist. “Sport plays a vital role in building character for children while having fun! Chhalaang took me back to my school days – looking back, I realize how much the sports I played in school have shaped me as a person today. It’s a special movie – a real family watch and perfect as a launch for Diwali, ”the actor said.

Originally slated to hit theaters on June 12, the film will now have a digital release. It will stream on Amazon Prime Video from November 13.
