Boston News anchor fired for cameo in Adam Sandler’s ‘Hubie Halloween’ – Deadline

Boston News presenter Alaina Pinto has been fired by station WHDH for her appearance in Adam Sandler’s new Netflix movie Halloween, Hubie Halloween.”Earlier this week I was fired from 7 News,” Pinto tweeted Thursday. “I’m posting this because I want to be open and honest with all of you. Last year I appeared in Adam Sandler’s recently released Netflix movie “Hubie Halloween.” The film bowed on October 7 to the streamer.

The appearance was a breach of Pinto’s contract, which she said she “violated in error.”

“I am deeply disappointed and saddened, and I was hoping that this would not be how things turned out,” Pinto wrote. “Thank you to all of my wonderful 7 News viewers and to my excellent colleagues at the station.”

The film is centered on October 31 in Salem, Massachusetts. Sandler, the eccentric of the city, finds himself in the middle of a real investigation, for a real murderer.

Pinto played a presenter for a fictional Boston television station, Channel 4 Morning News, and ran its morning show, “Wake Up, Boston.” The cameo saw Pinto talking about Salem’s Halloween festivities while dressed as DC Comics character Harley Quinn.

Prior to joining WHDH, Pinto worked at Fox Local 44 and ABC Local 22 in Burlington, Vermont.
