Batman’s crew pack their bags after a spectacular few nights of filming in town

It was a roller coaster ride that led to some spectacular scenes and drew Hollywood royalty to the city – but now the Batman Circus has evolved as film crews prepare for their next location. In a welcome diversion from the region being placed in the highest level of lockdown restrictions due to an upsurge in coronavirus cases, onlookers were treated to incredible venues when Liverpool were transformed into Gotham City.

It also provided a freebie for those who use photo sharing sites like Instagram.

Among the scenes was a man in a full Batman costume standing atop the Liver Building, overlooking the city.

The next day, a black helicopter could be seen “circling” the iconic building, focusing on the balcony area above the clock face that faces the Strand.

Star Robert Pattinson was also spotted on the steps of St George’s Hall as filming for the blockbuster continued.

Production of Caped Crusader’s latest film resumed last weekend after a hiatus following the coronavirus pandemic.

The production company had already started to set up for filming around St. George’s Hall, including the passage from William Brown Street to the cells below the lobby.

The film, titled The Batman, stars Pattinson as the legendary DC Comics hero and is slated for release in June 2021 by Warner Bros.

This is a reboot of the franchise, with Pattinson reprising the iconic role of Ben Affleck who donned the famous Batsuit for the big budget Batman vs Superman and The Justice League movies.
