Donald Trump spent three nights in a military hospital after announcing on October 2 that he and Melania had tested positive.

To treat the virus, he received an experimental dual therapy developed by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc and the antiviral remdesivir from Gilead Sciences Inc, as well as the steroid dexamethasone.

β€œIn a way, I was happy that the three of us went through this at the same time so that we could take care of each other and spend time together,” said Melania Trump.

Full statement from Melania Trump:

Two weeks ago, I received the diagnosis that so many Americans across our country and around the world had already received – I tested positive for COVID-19. To make matters worse, my husband and the Commander-in-Chief of our country received the same news.

Of course, my mind immediately went to our son. Much to our relief he tested negative, but again, as so many parents have thought over the past few months, I couldn’t help but think “what about tomorrow or the next day?” My fear came true when he was tested again and it turned out positive. Fortunately, he is a strong teenager and has no symptoms. In a way, I was happy that the three of us went through this at the same time so that we could take care of each other and spend time together. He has since tested negative.
