Officials said at least 44 cases are linked to a two-day wedding with more than 100 in attendance at the Avani Event Center near Jane Street and Langstaff Road. They said the wedding took place on October 14-18.

Everyone attending the wedding was advised to self-isolate immediately and stay there until Monday.
The release says 39 of the 44 people live outside of York Region. Thirty-one cases are in Peel Region, three in Halton Region, two in Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph region, one in Waterloo region, one in Simcoe-Muskoka and one in Toronto.

This particular case marks the second time that several people have tested positive for the coronavirus after attending a wedding in York Region.
For those who develop symptoms of COVID-19, they have been encouraged to book a test at an assessment center. Even for those who tested negative, they were encouraged to self-isolate until Monday.
Officials noted that York Region was still in the third stage of the plan to reopen the province. Wedding gathering limits were capped at 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors on October 19.
