Another coronavirus death has been recorded in hospital trusts in Cheshire. The latest figures released by NHS England show Warrington Teaching Hospitals and Halton NHS Foundation Trust was the only trust in Cheshire to record one new death in the past 24 hours.

The other three NHS trusts in our region have not recorded any new deaths from Covid-19.

The Countess of Chester Hospital, which is the hardest hit of Cheshire’s four trusts, has recorded a total of 229 deaths.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which operates Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Center in Winsford, has the second highest death toll in the county, with 216 deaths.

The East Cheshire NHS Trust, which runs Macclesfield, Knutsford and Congleton hospitals, saw a total of 149.

Meanwhile, the latest death from Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust brings their total to 152.
