Debt activists are calling on the International Monetary Fund to sell some of its gold stock to cover debt payments for the world’s poorest countries over the next 15 months.With the looming developing country debt crisis on the agenda for this week’s annual IMF meetings, the Jubilee Debt Campaign (JDC) said gold sales would help the most vulnerable countries to deal with the Covid-19 shock and would pave the way for a debt deal.
