American video game company Activision Blizzard Inc., editors of Overwatch and Call of Duty, told his employees in Versailles, France on Tuesday that it would close its doors, this according to a report by Bloomberg. The offices, which house around 300 employees who mainly deal with customer support in languages commonly used in Europe, will be closed, but employees have yet to know if they will be made redundant or reassigned. Some of the employees were going to have the option of being moved to the company’s London offices, according to Bloomberg, but the plan was scrapped due to Brexit and COVID-19[feminine[feminine.In 2019, after a record year of profits, Activision Blizzard laid off hundreds of employees, including 134 from the Versailles office who took severance pay. It is still unclear how many layoffs will occur with the closure of these offices.
