If the Raiders want to improve their squad, one place they might consider adding would be on the defensive line. Maliek Collins was signed at the start of this season for a one-year contract, but it hasn’t quite worked out for both sides. It’s also worth mentioning that Maurice Hurst is currently on the COVID-19 / reserve roster and missed the team’s Week 5 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
If the Raiders are serious about improving the position, the biggest name that could be available is Quinnen Williams of the New York Jets. With the Jets looking ready to clean the house, they might consider a trade in the No.3 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, if he returns.
With the Raiders likely in playoff contention this season, their 2020 first-round pick is unlikely to be in the top 15. That would be quite the deal for the Raiders as Williams is only 22 and begins to take off.
New York would be able to add another first-round pick to their arsenal, which could be used to acquire their future quarterback. Williams would be an easy sell to a Raiders fan base who needs more help on the inside defensive line.
