The French factory team – winner of the FIM EWC 2018-2019 title – embarks on the 12 Hours of Estoril, the season finale, with a gap of 47 points compared to the provisional championship leaders. But Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar will still be worth watching as one of the favorites for the victory in Portugal on September 26.
After a difficult start to the season and the switch to a new tire supplier, the Kawasaki factory team climbed the standings with their second place at the 24 Heures Motos.
Gilles Stafler gives us his analysis.
“First of all, I’m very happy with the team’s result at the 24 Heures Motos – let’s not forget that we had just changed the tire supplier and we are still not one hundred percent. We don’t know the Estoril circuit at all, so although we continue with Michelin, we still have a lot of work to do. We have rebounded significantly in the championship. If our rivals make mistakes, we will take our chance. If it rains, Michelin tires could give us an advantage. But we are unable to develop a title strategy. There is too much gap and too many rivals. The goal is to keep working during this race and during the winter to get to the next season in great shape.
