Watch: Danny Lee Frustrated With 6 4ft Putts Then Withdraws From US Open

Danny Lee retired after a third round 78 at the 120th US Open, citing a wrist injury. But it wasn’t a painful shot from Winged Foot’s rough pulp that seemed to be the catalyst for WD.

Lee was 3 above par for the round, facing a 4-foot putt at the 18th par 4 to end the day. He missed that on the left side, then missed the comebacker for bogey. Lee then did a frustrating ping pong with his ball from one side of the hole to the other before ending up with a six putting and quintuple-bogey 9.

Frustrated Lee 6 putts (!) From 4 feet before WD

Lee signed for his 78 and then called it a championship.
