Veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam dies


Famous book singer and award winner Padma SP Balasubrahmanyam, or popularly SPB or Balu in the film world and who recorded over 40,000 songs in 16 languages ​​over a period of five decades, has died lost his battle with Covid- 19 and died early Friday, his son Said SPCharan.

Speaking briefly to media outside MGM Healthcare, Charan said Balasubrahmanyam passed away at 2 p.m. and thanked hospital officials for the treatment and service.

Since Thursday, the indications to Balasubrahmanyam were not good.

MGM Healthcare said on Thursday the singer remained on ECMO and other life support systems.

“His condition over the past 24 hours has deteriorated, warranting maximum life support and he is extremely critical. MGM Healthcare’s team of experts are closely monitoring his condition, ”the hospital said.

Since Friday morning, a large number of police have been deployed outside the hospital.

Members of the singer’s family were all present at the hospital.

The famous director Bharathiraja, after visiting Balasubrahmanyam in the hospital, told the media during this time of grief that he was unable to speak.

“Even now there is a silver lining. There is a power above all of us, ”said a moved Bharathiraja.

It was director Venkat Prabha who first tweeted about the singer’s death.

Prabhu tweeted “#RIPSPB 1:04 pm” announcing the sad news.

On August 5, in a Facebook post, the 74-year-old SPB said he was suffering from a very mild coronavirus attack and had been hospitalized for rest.

He had said that although the doctors advised him to stay home and get some rest, he had decided to be in the hospital, as at home his family members would be worried.

He hoped to be able to be released from the hospital in two days. But it was not to be.
