US Open 2020 standings: live coverage, golf scores, Tiger Woods scores today in first round at Winged Foot

The first of six major championships for the 2020-21 golf season, the 2020 US Open begins Thursday at the historic Winged Foot Golf Club with almost as many scenarios as there are players. The course will take center stage, as it often does at the US Open, and this one deserves full praise as players have been talking all week about the purity (but tough) of the game. One Golfer has already completed a week of Winged Foot below par, and I don’t expect 2020 to provide the second. What it will deliver is a top of the line that’s as good and deep as ever.Dustin Johnson leads the way as a 17/2 favorite (according to William Hill Sportsbook) as he tries to claim his second major and third victory in his last four starts. The only golfer to beat him in that span, Jon Rahm, is next at 10-1. Elsewhere, Justin Thomas will try to add to his collection of wins, Collin Morikawa will try to take a second consecutive major, Rory McIlroy will try to become the 20th golfer with five or more, Tiger Woods will try to become just the second at 16, and Phil Mickelson will try again to complete the career slam. It should be a noisy first round on the field of Winged Foot, as the best in the game (and some of the best of all time) attempt to conquer one of the greatest golf courses on the planet.
