UK holidays rise as travel quarantine could be reduced to 8 days despite rising cases

UK holidaymakers may soon rejoice as the period of isolation after returning from abroad may be reduced.

Currently, Britons returning from countries on the UK’s quarantine list must self-isolate for 14 days.

But government officials could reduce it to 8 days with significant testing after concerns about the economy.

Yet it comes as the UK has recorded its highest number of daily coronavirus cases since May.

There were 2,988 new infections in Britain on Sunday, with the death toll rising to 41,551.
