Slovakian UFC newcomer Ludovit Klein caused a sensation on his Octagon debut, stopping Shane Young with a kick to the head and flurry of punches to earn a save at just 76 seconds of their UFC 253 preliminary card fight.
Klein, a national boxing champion in his home country, cracked Young with a blow early in the fight, then slapped Young with a head butt. Young had raised his hand, but he wasn’t prepared for an uppercut that sent him to the canvas. The follow-up shots forced the referee to intervene at 1:16 am of the first round.

It was Klein’s eighth consecutive win and the first in the UFC after coming on at short notice for Nate Landwehr, who was forced to retire from the card in Abu Dhabi. Klein ran out of weight for the fight, coming in at 150 pounds and relinquishing part of his purse to his opponent.
If he hadn’t been excluded from a bonus, Klein might have picked up an additional $ 50,000. As it stands, he will start his UFC career on a high note. Young, the first of four City Kickboxing fighters on Saturday’s fight card, sees a two-game winning streak.
