Case investigations indicate that a case already identified at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is linked to an assisted living facility located adjacent to the Donwood Manor personal care home. Information was shared with families and staff. Close contacts are identified and case investigations continue.

Although the risk is considered low, Donwood Manor has initiated outbreak protocols with great caution, officials said. The location has implemented additional measures to further reduce risk to residents and staff. Donwood Manor has changed to Restricted (orange) on the #RestartMB Pandemic Response System.

Preliminary lab test numbers show 1,256 more tests were done on Saturday, bringing the total number of lab tests done since early February to 145,468.

Manitobans are strongly encouraged to go back to basics to help stop the spread of COVID-19. This means not going out while you are feeling sick, practicing good hand hygiene, covering your cough, and physically moving away when you are with people outside your home. If you can’t get away physically, wear a mask.

If you choose to travel, remember to be “COVID-Careful” by making gas around the house and making sure all supplies are packed with you, so extra stops don’t have to be made in. course.

Unless public health recommends it, only people with symptoms of COVID-19 should get tested. People with symptoms are advised to get tested as soon as possible after symptoms are present.
