WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump said his administration spoke to Walmart Inc and Oracle Corp about TikTok on Thursday, but little had changed about a deal for the short video app owned by the China.
“We make a decision. We spoke today at Walmart, Oracle. I guess Microsoft is still involved, ”Trump told reporters at the White House before leaving for a visit to Wisconsin.
“We’ll make a decision, but nothing has really changed. We will make a decision soon.
Chinese company ByteDance, which owns TikTok, is rushing to strike a deal with the White House that would prevent a U.S. ban on TikTok that Trump has threatened from happening as early as next week.
