“This Just In: National Association of Lip Safety warns against applying multiple small mirrors to the mouth,” Bergeron wrote, accompanying his tweet with a close-up of him holding a mirror ball to his own lips. “Bad chewing and that’s 7 years of bad luck.”

But the subtle nuance didn’t stop there! Bergeron also recently changed his Twitter bio to read: “Former ‘Footwork With the Famous’ co-host.”
Longtime “DWTS” fans, professional dancers and famous former contestants were all shocked to learn of Bergeron’s departure in July, when he broke the news via Twitter. At the time, ABC and BBC Studios revealed in a statement to ET that its co-host, Erin Andrews, will not be returning for Season 29 either.
“Tom Bergeron will forever be part of the“ Dancing With the Stars ”family. As we embark on a new creative direction, he leaves the show with our sincere thanks and gratitude for his wit and charm which helped make this show a success, ”the statement said. “Erin isn’t coming back either and we appreciate everything she’s brought into the ballroom.” Fans have been supporting her since competing in 2010, and her signature sense of humor has become a hallmark of the series.
Six-time mirrorball champion Derek Hough, who will return to the ballroom this season in a soon-to-be revealed role, spoke about the host reshuffle shortly after the news broke.
“My first reaction – I guess I was pretty shocked. Tom Bergeron is a staple of “Dancing With the Stars”, and he’s a good friend of mine. We’re friends, and he’s a good man and he’s been there from the start, and he’s just a great guy, ”he said during an appearance on SiriusXM’s“ Bevelations ”in July. “But you also understand that we are in the entertainment industry, nothing is certain, and there are always those efforts to reinvigorate and change things. So look at that and go, that’s also understandable I think.
“To be honest Tyra Banks actually… I think she’s fantastic. Thought she was a fantastic host on ‘America’s Got Talent’. I thought she had done an amazing job. So, I am optimistic for this change, ”he added. “I think she will be fantastic. But when it comes to my story and my friendship, I was really shocked by Tom Bergeron for sure.
