There will be no Halloween or Christmas this year

Holidays are going to be different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including holiday treats that will still be available.

According to a report from Delish, we will not be able to enjoy Halloween or Christmas Peeps this year due to the impact of the pandemic on the operations of Just Born, the company behind Peeps.

Just Born shut down production earlier this year due to the pandemic, and this fall will be no different. At the end of March, the marshmallow treats were still on sale in time for Easter, but production was halted for several weeks.

Just Born released this statement to Delish explaining why the Seasonal Peeps won’t be available this year for the Halloween and Christmas holidays.

“While PEEPS®, MIKE AND IKE®, and HOT TAMALES® Marshmallow Candies are generally available in fun packaging shapes and sizes for Halloween and the holiday season, unfortunately the seasonal varieties will not be available. not in store until 2021. As you may know, due to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, we have temporarily suspended production of our candy brands to ensure the health and safety of our associates. At the beginning of May, we resumed limited production after making important changes in our factory which ensure the safety of our associates. This situation has forced us to make the difficult decision to forgo the production of our seasonal sweets for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day in order to focus on meeting the overwhelming expected demand for PEEPS® for the upcoming Easter season. , as well as our everyday sweets. ”

Seasonal Peeps will return to stores in 2021 after Valentine’s Day, according to Delish’s report.

This will also allow the company to start Easter production early.
