While it’s not clear at this point what the offseason has in store for him and his club, it appears that a trade was not sought by Domi and his side, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, who has also reported that the 25-year-old striker’s camp has undergone some recent changes.
“The news has come out that Max Domi has a new agent – he is now represented by Darren Ferris,” Friedman said on Saturday during Hockey night in Canada“Securities” segment. “He met Marc Bergevin, he didn’t really want to say too much about the game, but the only thing he was ready to say was that Max Domi did not ask the Montreal Canadiens for a trade.
“I don’t know where this will end up, but Domi hasn’t asked to be traded.
Domi enjoyed an explosive 2018-19 season with Montreal after the club acquired him from the Arizona Coyotes, scoring 28 goals and 72 points in his first year at the Bell Center.
This season, those totals have dropped to 17 goals and 44 points, with Domi’s average ice time dropping from 17:23 last season to just 14:21 in this playoff.
Currently a restricted free agent after earning $ 3.15 million in 2019-20, Domi is now represented by Ferris, who also represents figures like Mitch Marner and Taylor Hall.
