Tesco announces additional measures to ensure buyers wear masks


Over the past week, everything has changed at supermarkets including Asda, Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Morrisons, as new rules came into effect for staff wearing face masks and shoppers were warned not to not store. As a result, some people are unsure of how supermarkets will make sure customers play by the rules.

Tesco has now answered a buyer’s question about how it works and has announced some changes that will take place in stores to ensure customer safety.

Posting on Tesco’s Twitter account, the supermarket wrote: “As of September 24, we are reintroducing Social Distancing Greeters to greet customers at the front of our Extra stores and supermarkets to ensure post set-up. hygiene so that customers can disinfect their carts and baskets.

« [They will] Remind customers to wear face masks in store. However, they will not challenge customers who are not wearing them or prevent anyone from entering.

« [They will] assist and support vulnerable clients. Answer any questions regarding our social distancing measures and remind customers to stay 2 meters apart. ”
