Terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed, but Mobify said in a statement that it was an extension of a multi-year partnership with the cloud-based customer relationship management company.
“Upon completion of the transaction, we look forward to joining the Salesforce family and partnering with even more Salesforce customers to unleash the freedom and flexibility to differentiate their digital customer experiences,” said the co-founder and CEO Igor Faletsky in a statement.
Mobify will apply its system to Salesforce Commerce Cloud, allowing brands to personalize digital storefronts faster and more often. The company is already working with Under Armor and Shiseido.
The deal comes as, according to Salesforce’s own indices, digital commerce revenue in the last quarter rose 71% from a year earlier.
The company was started by SFU students Igor Faletsky and John Boxall. Originally, their first creation was an app that texted bus timetables to a user’s phone. From there, a group of dedicated developers began to adapt their skills to the mobile apps and the mobile web market.
