According to the Waterloo Region District School Board, the student was last in the building on September 15 and public health has not identified any high-risk contacts who may have been exposed.
On Monday afternoon, public health confirmed that a student at Williamsburg Public School in Kitchener tested positive for COVID-19. The health department is working to identify high-risk contacts, who will have to self-isolate until October 2.
On Monday afternoon, a case was also confirmed in a student at Huron Heights High School in Kitchener as well as Clemens Mills Public School in Cambridge.
This is the fifth case in a student in the past two days, as confirmed Sunday night at Riverside Public School in Elmira.
There have also been cases among a staff member at Edna Staebler Public School in Waterloo and a kindergarten student at St. Anne’s Catholic Elementary School in Cambridge.
