Starbucks Canada will require customers to wear face masks in stores starting September 14

TORONTO – Starbucks Canada says it will begin requiring customers to wear face protection in its cafes in mid-September. The company says the rule will go into effect at all of its company-owned cafes in Canada on September 14.

Starbucks says the policy is aimed at stopping the spread of COVID-19.

Customers arriving at a Starbucks without a mask will have the option of using drive-thru, ordering curbside pickup using the company’s app, or requesting delivery.

Starbucks previously began requiring all employees to perform a pre-shift screening, which included taking their temperature, wearing a mask and washing their hands.

The company has also improved the cleaning of its stores to ensure that often touched surfaces are disinfected frequently.
