Customers of a Mississauga GoodLife are notified after a second employee tests positive for COVID-19.
In a letter sent to members on Monday, the gym confirmed that a second employee from its Mississauga Heartland Town Center location tested positive.
“At this time, there is no indication that this case is linked to the previous case at our club,” read the letter, which was posted on Reddit.
“We are contacting the Peel Public Health Department and will follow any guidance they provide.”
The letter states that all members who were in the gym during the employee’s shift will be contacted.
Gyms and fitness centers were among the businesses allowed to take over under Stage 3 of Ontario’s plans to reopen.
Toronto and the Region of Peel entered Stage 3, about two weeks after much of the rest of the province.
Also in Toronto, a second JOEY restaurant in the city closed after one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.
On Tuesday, JOEY Sherway Gardens – along with a worker from The Keg in the same mall – both tested positive, a day after a JOEY employee in Yorkdale tested positive in what a spokesperson from the mall described. 680News as an “off-site incident”.
Yorkdale’s Foot Locker sportswear store is also closed after two workers tested positive.
All businesses have since reopened after disinfection.
