Sainsbury’s, Iceland, Co-Op and Waitrose urgently recall milk, cake and chicken

Some of the major UK supermarkets are urgently recalling popular products for safety reasons. Chains such as Iceland, Sainsbury’s and The Co-Op are urging all customers not to consume any of the affected products, which have received warnings from the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

If you purchased any of the items below, you must return it for a full refund.

Here are all of the latest product recalls, according to the Mirror.

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s is recalling its semi-skimmed UHT milk due to possible microbiological contamination.

The supermarket said it took the precautionary measure as the product could be unsafe to consume.

Waitrose

Waitrose is recalling its mini chocolate cupcakes due to the presence of undeclared nuts.

He said the product was poorly packaged during production and instead contained his mini coffee and nut cupcakes.

Waitrose is also recalling its Beef and Beer Pie as it contains hazelnuts and milk which are not mentioned on the label.

The product may present a risk to the health of any person allergic to nuts (hazelnuts) and / or allergy or intolerance to milk or its constituents.

Cooperative

The cooperative is recalling its packaging of 18 chocolate and caramel shortbread bites.

This is because some packages may contain barley – an ingredient not mentioned on the label.

Iceland

Earlier this month, Iceland recalled two of its own branded chicken products after discovering they contained traces of salmonella.

Customers have been told to return their Chip Shop curry chicken breast fillings and southern fried chicken popsters to stores.

Salmonella can cause symptoms like fever, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps if consumed.

The affected curry chicken breast fillings were the 400g packets with expiration dates February 27, 2021, March 17, 2021, and April 8, 2021.

The affected Southern Fried Chicken Popsters were sold in 220g packs with an expiration date of April 4, 2021.

Longeron

Spar this week said its pesto chicken breast sizzlers may contain traces of egg – despite not mentioning the ingredient on the label.

He said the product could pose a health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to eggs. Anyone who purchased it should return it to their local store for a full refund.
