Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have become TV producers after making a huge deal with streaming giant Netflix.
The deal would cost around $ 100 to $ 150 million, after which the Sussexes even refunded taxpayer money used for the renovation of Frogmore Cottage.
The contract, however, is very important to Meghan and Harry for more than one reason.
Besides the fact that this gives them their indispensable financial independence, it also helps to rebuild their public image.
A source said Us weekly that Harry and Meghan see the Netflix deal “as a way to rebuild their reputation” after their controversial royal outing earlier this year.
“It was too tempting to resist,” the insider added.
As per the deal, Harry and Meghan will produce a wide range of content, including feature films, documentaries, scripted shows and children’s programming.
The shows will be based on subjects close to the hearts of the couple.
“Our goal will be to create content that informs but also gives hope,” a statement from them said. “As new parents, creating inspiring family programs is also important to us.… [Netflix’s] unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that ignites action. “
