Pro Wrestling Stars Congratulate and Thank Gerald Brisco After Leaving WWE

Several professional wrestling stars have taken to Twitter this week to congratulate WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco on being released from the company after 36 years of service.Dolph Ziggler mentioned how Brisco had done so much for him and other amateur wrestlers who wanted to get into professional wrestling.

He wrote: “Thank you for everything you do and have done for me and all the other amateur wrestlers who wanted a chance to turn pro! See you soon, my brother! ”

Shelton Benjamin opened up about how Brisco has been a father figure to him since he was first signed to WWE in 2000.

“@Fgbrisco has been a father figure to me ever since I joined WWE. He helps me shape and guide me. Always there to give encouragement, laughter, wisdom and a kick in the ass when needed. I will always need everything. keep your phone handy. Thanks Gerry, ”wrote Benjamin.

WWE producer Adam Pearce said Brisco changed his life and called him a father figure as well.

“Simply put, @Fgbrisco has changed my life. Many will say the same thing, and I believe it. I call him my wrestling “daddy” because that’s how he treats me. And he never had to. My gratitude is endless, and in fact it grows like me, you’re a HOFer in every sense of the word, daddy! [folded hands emoji] [heart emoji]Pearce wrote.

Tucker and Otis from Heavy Machinery both thanked Brisco for what he did to help them.

Otis wrote: “I LOVE YOU SIR [fist emoji] I will always be a Brisco Boy THANKS »

Tucker added, “I wouldn’t be where I am today without @Fgbrisco Me and many others, especially in the amateur wrestling circle, I ask him to thank him for our opportunity in @WWE. He’s a great man with a great heritage. Thank you Mr. Brisco ”

Impact Wrestling star Madman Fulton, formerly known as Sawyer Fulton in WWE NXT, also thanked Brisco for changing his life.

“It sucks to hear that @Fgbrisco has been released. The man changed my life and I will never stop being grateful for him #MainEventMonster, ”Fulton wrote.

WWE Legends also weighed on Brisco’s departure. WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley called Brisco a tremendous asset to the company, and NXT General Manager William Regal thanked Brisco for being there during a difficult time in his life.

“I’m so sorry to hear that Gerald Brisco is no longer with @WWE. He is a great man who has been a great asset to the company for 36 years. I loved working with him. Hang on @Fgbrisco – a lot of us think about the world of you, ”Foley wrote.

Regal added: “There aren’t enough words to thank you for all your help, advice, knowledge and most of all your selfless friendship. When I was at the bottom of my life 21 years ago, you were always there for me. Thank you my friend.x »

WWE Hall of Famer and producer Michael “PS” Hayes thanked Brisco for the good times they shared, and for the way he and his brother Jack Brisco helped the Fabulous Freebirds.

“Thanks Gerald for all the BIG times, hope there are some more left !! Most importantly, thank you for all of UR’s help over the years and what you and Jack have done for the FREEBIRDS !! Hayes wrote.

Brisco had been fired in April as part of other company-wide cuts caused by COVID-19, but he received a phone call from WWE President Vince McMahon on Wednesday night informing him of the full publication. As we noted, WWE reportedly made about 60 employee cuts this week, from producers and editors to other office workers. Brisco had worked as a talent scout for the past few years.
