Ten Premier League players or staff have tested positive for COVID-19 in the latest round of testing.

The number of positive tests is increasing, after three or four positive tests in each of the last three weeks.

This is the highest number of positive results reported by the Premier League after a series of tests.

The numbers include the three positive results at West Ham, announced by the club last Tuesday night.

A statement read: “The Premier League can today confirm that between Monday September 21 and Sunday September 27, 1,595 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19.

“Among these, there were 10 new positive tests.

“Players or club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate for a period of 10 days. ”

Results of previous tests

Tour 1: Aug 31-Sep 6 – 1605 tested, with three positives
2ème round: September 7-13 – 2131 tested, with four positives
3e tour: September 14-20 – 1574 tested, with three positives
