Phillip Schofield was on hand to help his new neighbors on Friday when a tree fell on their car near his £ 2million bachelor pad in Chiswick, west London.

The TV presenter, 58, who is more of an ambassador for the We Buy Any Car car-buying website, was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt as he joined the street to rally for check that everything was safe after the unfortunate incident.

He shrugged dramatically during the conversation with his neighbors, which saw a crowd of road residents gather for inspection.

Phillip clearly fitted into the neighborhood as she amiably chatted with her new neighbors while helping to assess what was going on.

For sheer comfort, he sported a white t-shirt with baggy socks while his silver trademark was slightly more tousled than usual.

As high winds hit the capital, the tree fell on the car, leading to the road rally to see what had happened.

The unfortunate incident comes days after it was revealed that Phillip had moved into a large semi-detached house in west London.

His new home, a stone’s throw from the Thames, is close to the home of ITV colleague Declan Donnelly and to Ant McPartlin’s former home with Lisa Armstrong.

Neighbors told MailOnline they have seen the presenter in the area regularly since moving in about two weeks ago. He also frequents pubs along the Thames, which is a short distance from his new home.

Locals said Schofield is seen more on foot or on a bicycle than in his luxury Jaguar sports car which has a private license plate and is parked in the forecourt of his new home.

A neighbor said: “It has been quite a stir since he moved in and people are very excited. He seems to be a very nice and perfectly normal man. You mostly see him walking or riding a bike and he smiles every time he walks by.

Another neighbor added: “There are already quite a few famous people living here, so Phillip Schofield moving in is not a big deal.

“A lot of people have talked about it, but nobody bothers him. He’s a lovely guy and I’m sure he’ll enjoy living in our community.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the TV personality is planning an ‘out of court’ divorce from his wife Stephanie, where he will split his £ 9million fortune.

The TV star apparently wants to avoid a bitter confrontation like his friend Ant McPartlin, who divorced his 12-year-old wife Lisa Armstrong earlier this year.

Unlike Ant and Lisa, Phil is reportedly against signing nondisclosure agreements and is only waiting for his wife’s “continued loyalty” during the process.

A source told The Sun: “Phillip and Steph have had a lot of difficult and painful conversations over the past ten months, but remain as tight and devoted to each other as ever.

Phil apparently had no plans to move on and would be up against a costly divorce battle – especially with his earnings at an “all time high.”

The source added: “Steph is entitled to half. He doesn’t dispute that – all he wants in return is his continued loyalty. . . and discretion, her family is her # 1 priority and that will never change.

Last week it was reported that Phil’s wealth had increased by £ 800,000 and as the manager of his company Fistral Productions, Steph will be entitled to a portion of it.

He recently signed a £ 60,000 deal to become the face of a gin advent calendar and has long-standing deals with Waitrose, We Buy Any Car and Princess Cruises.

Although they have apparently discussed the divorce, it doesn’t look like Phil is going far judging by the apparent plans to convert a garage in his £ 2.6million family home into a two-bedroom garage.

It was believed he had moved from his Oxfordshire mansion earlier this year, but he later suggested he had gone through confinement in the spacious mansion.
