A fighter jet breaking through the sound barrier caused a major blast noise in Paris on Wednesday, which is believed to have even rocked buildings in parts of the city.

The cause of the explosion was unknown until the Paris Police Prefecture published a tweet announcing the fighter plane as the source.

“Don’t clutter the emergency lines!” he stated.

Some residents of the French capital said the explosion made their buildings shake, while others said they heard noise in nearby suburbs, according to Reuters.

There are no reports of damage immediately.

The explosion also temporarily interrupted a tennis match at Roland Garros, as a video showed Dominik Koepfer preparing to serve a ball to Stan Wawrinka before pausing and gazing up into the sky in confusion.
