No one could have predicted the podium for the 2020 Italian Grand Prix, which saw AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly claim his first victory over Carlos Sainz’s McLaren and Racing Point of Lance Stroll – one of the Mercedes, Red Bull or Ferrari having failed to finish on the stand for the first time since 2012.
For Mercedes, it was a race to forget, as Valtteri Bottas took 5th place, while a Lewis Hamilton penalty bounced back to seventh – while it was even worse for Ferrari, who saw both cars give up their home run.
