Ontario Reports Just Over 140 New Coronavirus Cases, 41 In Toronto


The province confirmed 148 new known cases of COVID-19 on Friday morning, an increase from the previous day.There are also no reported deaths and 116 resolved cases.

According to Health Minister Christine Elliot, the province has processed more than 28,500 tests. Peel reports 72 new cases, 41 in Toronto and 13 in Ottawa

“Again, all of the other public health units are reporting five cases or less, and 12 units are not reporting any new cases,” Elliot said.

The cases are up from the 132 cases on Thursday, 133 on Wednesday, 112 on Tuesday, 114 on Monday and 112 on Sunday. Saturday saw the same number of 148 cases, which is the highest daily number of cases since July 24, when the province had 195.

There have been a total of 42,834 coronavirus cases to date, with 38,741 resolved and 2,811 deaths reported.
