Ontario Confirms 293 New Cases of COVID-19


Ontario confirmed 293 cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, a slight drop from the 315 cases reported on Wednesday.In a tweet, Health Minister Christine Elliott said there were 85 cases in Toronto, 63 in Peel Region and 39 in Ottawa.

Elliott added that 70% of the cases involved people under the age of 40.

Three new deaths were reported Thursday, bringing the total to 2,825.

Of the 45,676 COVID-19 cases currently in Ontario, 88.5% are considered resolved.

Meanwhile, the Ford government is expected to announce that the social gathering limits will be reduced to 10 indoors and 25 outdoors for Toronto, Peel Region and Ottawa, a senior government source said.

The current limit for social gatherings is 50 indoors and 100 outdoors.
