We have taken an important step with the first electric flow of Muskrat Falls. The first unit of MF was successfully synchronized with the Labrador power grid last night. Thank you to the teamwork of our partners and to the thousands of people who have contributed to this achievement. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/f52SETTKnL

During the commissioning period, electricity generated at Muskrat Falls will be added to the Labrador power grid. Power for the second unit is expected later this year, with the third and fourth units entering service in 2021.
Another update on the project will arrive in about a week. Nalcor and GE are still working on the software issue preventing the transmission of electricity from Labrador to the island.
