Detectives have opened an investigation into his death pending the results of an autopsy.
Police say the circumstances of his death cannot yet be explained.
Brooke, originally from New Zealand, had been working in Western Australia for a year.
Posting on Facebook, his family said they were “devastated”.
The message read: “It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of their 19-year-old daughter Brooke Tuhakaraina.
“She’s been working in Australia for about 12 months.
“We’re all devastated right now. “
According to neighbors, Ms. Tuhakaraina shared the property she lived in with workers from a local mowing company.
Entrepreneur Mike Henderson said the teenager was found by a member of staff at the home.
He told The West Australian: “She was a wool handler, a nice kid.
“She was only 19 and she worked for me for a few months. “
His death occurred in a small crayfish fishing town called Port Denison, which has been marked by tragedy in the past.
In 2011, a mother killed her two daughters before committing suicide in the city of around 3,000 residents.
Police set up a crime scene around the house after the teenager was discovered, with neighbors saying people living there “constantly came and went.”
