It was reported earlier this week that several people tested positive for COVID-19 during the NXT recordings on September 9, which resulted in several “significant” changes to the show’s plans.According to the latest Radio Wrestling Observer, while the number is not as high as the last WWE outbreak (38), it is also not a small number of wrestlers infected. The belief is that one of the Trainers at the Performance Center contracted COVID, which resulted in the outbreak. It also includes a few people on the main roster who could have an effect on this week’s TV. It had previously been reported that some people were more relaxed about wearing masks to stop the spread of the virus.
The changes also included plans for future episodes. The match between Danny Burch and Roderick Strong against Fabian Aichner and Raul Mendoza was supposed to set up a match between The Undisputed Era (Strong and Fish) and Burch and Oney Lorcan. The match cannot take place next week, but can end in two weeks. Fish was not on the show, but it has not been confirmed that he tested positive. Announcers Vic Joseph and Wade Barrett were also absent, but again, that doesn’t confirm anything.
