Manchester United Transfer News RECAP Sancho at the latest as United ‘holds conversations on Such’

United predict roster against Crystal Palace

Manchester United will likely give Donny van de Beek a competitive start in his Premier League debut against Crystal Palace this weekend.

United did not make the first round of league games last week as they received a special dispensation to enjoy an extra week of rest after their appearance in the Europa League mini-tournament in Cologne.

But after playing a pre-season friendly against Aston Villa, United are now preparing for their new campaign, with the game against Palace starting at 5.30pm at Old Trafford on Saturday. And new boy Van de Beek, signed from Ajax this summer, looks set to start.

It remains to be seen whether or not he is joined by Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in United midfielder, although Pogba may be rested after recovering little from the coronavirus. Solskjaer has declared Pogba and Luke Shaw fit to play, but could choose one of Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay or Fred alongside Van de Beek and Fernandes in midfield.

David de Gea will likely pick up Dean Henderson in goal, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial all seem certain to start. Solskjaer then has the decision to take over from Mason Greenwood after the youngster endured a rough summer, having been kicked out of England for breaking covid-19 protocols.

Axel Tuanzebe is the only confirmed absentee as he continues his recovery after foot surgery.

Here is our predicted XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Matic, Van de Beek, Fernandes; Greenwood, Martial, Rashford.
