Muse frontman Matt Bellamy released a rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s classic “Bridge Over Troubled Water”.True to the original, Bellamy captures the reassuring feelings and emotional weight of the song with uplifting falsetto in its abridged version. Instead of the piano melodies found on the original recorded version, Bellamy’s take is led by the acoustic guitar.

“One of my all-time favorite songs, and a timely song for a tough year,” Bellamy said in a statement. “We should all reach out and be there for our friends now!”

Bellamy’s cover of Simon & Garfunkel follows the release of his solo song “Tomorrow’s World” which he finished recording during the lockdown. He reflected optimistically on the effects of the lockdown in May.

“It forced me to really look at what it’s like to live at a slower pace, to enjoy life at home and to spend quality time with the kids,” he said. Rolling stone. “I’m everywhere at school now. I know exactly what my son is learning and what is going on with him. It all sounds like an eye-opening experience to me, and I think this song reflects that.

“Towards the end of the song, I veer off to the idea that the world itself is something that maybe we should be a little more … that we should lower the pace, slow things down a bit”, a- he continued.

Bellamy added that Muse hopes to start working on new music next year, and potentially resume touring in 2022. Their sci-fi concert film, Simulation theory, hit streaming services in August. Simulation theory will also be available as two separate luxury limited-edition boxes, which will arrive on December 11. The boxes will include a Simulation theory Marvel Comics comic book as well as a limited edition poster.
